Guide to Buy Something

The story about too much stuff

After feeling bombarded and overwhelmed with having too much stuff Designer Dave Hakkens decided to do get rid of the excess, then he made this chart to help himself and others in the future.

“This is something I’ve been wanting to do for a while; getting rid of the useless stuff in my life. For some reason I just keep carrying these boxes of junk with me to wherever I live. There is no value in keeping it, it’s just stuff. It takes space in my boxes, closet, room, house. I got rid of it. And I never want to do this again, so I made a piece of paper to help me out. Print one out yourself and make sure to post a picture of it here!”

The things you used to own

You buy furniture. You tell yourself, this is the last sofa I will ever need in my life. Buy the sofa, then for a couple years you’re satisfied that no matter what goes wrong, at least you’ve got your sofa issue handled. Then the right set of dishes. Then the perfect bed. The drapes. The rug. Then you’re trapped in your lovely nest, and the things you used to own, now they own you.
