Artists Kenji Nakayama and Christopher Hope wanted to offer something meaningful to the homeless, so they used their talents and teamed up to create “Signs For The Homeless“.
Being that a sign is one of the only ways homeless people are able to communicate their needs, the artists interviewed and photographed a number of homeless people on the streets of Boston and replaced their old cardboard and sharpie signs with new and colorful signs conveying the same message.
The goal of the project was to raise awareness about the current state of poverty and encourage others to help the homeless.
